Pope Francis and Prof. Muhammad Yunus Launch ‘3Zero Club’ in Rome to Champion a Just, Sustainable Future
In a powerful move toward building an inclusive and compassionate future, Pope Francis and Nobel Peace Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus have jointly inaugurated the “Pope Francis Yunus 3Zero Club” in Rome. The initiative aims to empower marginalised youth and encourage global action towards achieving a world with zero poverty, zero unemployment, and zero net carbon emissions.
The 3Zero Club, launched in Rome’s underserved communities, seeks to ignite young minds to develop practical, sustainable solutions to today’s pressing challenges. The effort reflects a shared vision between the Holy Father and Prof. Yunus — one grounded in equity, dignity, and environmental stewardship.
Expressing his deep gratitude, Prof. Yunus emphasized the importance of collaboration, urging the global community to support the youth in creating a civilisation that respects every individual and protects the planet.
Today, over 4,600 Three Zero Clubs exist worldwide, many hosted in universities, all inspired by Prof. Yunus’s mission of transforming traditional economic models through social business and youth leadership.
In a letter to Cardinal Baldo Reina, the Vicar General of Rome, Prof. Yunus called the initiative a “shared vision” with Pope Francis — a commitment to social justice, human dignity, and environmental care. He quoted the Pope’s message from Fratelli Tutti, calling all people to unite as “one human family” and co-create a compassionate world.
The 3Zero Club initiative invites young changemakers to be more than dreamers — to become the architects of a just, sustainable civilisation.
