Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan: No Commitment Yet to Join New Political Party

Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan stated today (26 April) that he would choose the best political platform for himself when the time comes, and it may not necessarily be the newly formed political party.

“That can be any party, not necessarily the new political party,” said the adviser to the ministries of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, and Youth and Sports during a press briefing.

Speaking about the National Citizen Party (NCP), Asif Mahmud acknowledged having some “interest” in the party, noting it was created by the younger generation and individuals of his own age group.

However, he stressed that there is no certainty regarding his political future.

“It’s not the time yet to decide which party I would join, and when I would do so is also uncertain,” he said, urging people not to assume he would inevitably align with the NCP.
