Flag Meeting Results in Return of Indian Nationals after Failed Border Breach at Daulatpur
On the night of Thursday (December 25), the Border Security Force (BSF) of India attempted to push 14 Indian nationals into Bangladesh through the Daulatpur border in Kushtia. However, the attempt was successfully thwarted by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), which acted swiftly to prevent the illegal entry.
A flag meeting was held at the company commander level in response to the incident. The meeting was attended by a six-member delegation from the 47th BGB under Subedar Asaduzzaman's leadership, and a six-member team from the 146th BSF under Company Commander AC Anil Kumar.
During the meeting, the BGB strongly protested the illegal attempt and demanded the immediate return of the individuals. Following verification of their identities, it was confirmed that all 14 individuals were residents of the Tarikunda area in Jagatsinghpur district, Odisha, India. After the meeting, the BSF took them back to India.
Lieutenant Colonel Rashed Kamal Rony, commander of the 47th BGB in Kushtia, reaffirmed Bangladesh’s firm stance against illegal border crossings, emphasizing the BGB's commitment to protecting national sovereignty and border security.
