Jashore Sees 9.5°C, Cold Wave and Fog Disruptions Across the Country

Jashore recorded the country’s lowest temperature at 9.5 degrees Celsius today, December 26, as a mild cold wave continues sweeping through several districts in Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has warned that thick fog could temporarily disrupt air navigation, inland river transport, and road communication.

According to the regular 120-hour bulletin, the weather will remain mostly dry, with a partly cloudy sky over the country. Moderate to thick fog is expected to form in various areas from midnight to morning, potentially lasting until noon in some regions. The fog is likely to cause temporary disruption in travel and transport.

The BMD has reported a cold wave in districts such as Jashore, Chuadanga, Gopalganj, Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, and Nilphamari, which may persist for a while. Despite the cold wave, night and day temperatures are expected to rise slightly. However, the foggy conditions will likely continue to make the weather feel cold in many parts of the country.

The highest temperature recorded on Thursday was 29°C at Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar.
