After 29 years of the death of popular Dhallywood actor Salman Shah, the court has finally ordered the continuation of the murder case. Yet, even after all these years, his popularity remains undiminished. A quick scroll through Facebook is enough to prove it. His smartness, fashion sense, acting, speech style, and charismatic personality all together still make him that same charming 24-year-old in the hearts of fans. But what was Salman Shah’s fashion and style really like?

Comfortable in everything

Fashion, style, and a refined lifestyle  Salman Shah was far ahead of his time. He carried all kinds of outfits with ease, often seen in neutral-toned clothes and jeans. Whether oversized or fitted shirts, he wore them effortlessly. His back-brushed hairstyle became immensely popular, while bandanas, Nepali caps, and Middle Eastern scarves gained fame through him.

His Own Stylist

These days, a star’s style is often crafted by a whole team of professionals, leaving little room for personal expression. Since the same group usually handles the fashion, style, and makeup of multiple celebrities, most of them end up looking quite similar. But from the very beginning, Salman Shah was different.

Several filmmakers who worked with him have said in interviews that they left the costume choices entirely up to Salman. Whether formal or casual, the decision was always his. There were even times when, with a shoot scheduled for the next day, Salman spent the entire afternoon and evening before at the second floor of New Market, picking out his outfits himself. He personally bought his clothes and even sat beside the tailor to guide the designs himself. He went from shop to shop choosing his own outfits, along with matching accessories. He carefully planned what to wear for each scene and often returned home late at night after finalizing everything. Whenever he traveled for outdoor shoots or went abroad for filming, he would return with six to seven suitcases packed with different types of clothes and outfits.

A Vast Shoe Collection

Salman had a massive collection of shoes at home  hundreds of pairs of loafers, Converse, high boots, and sneakers. Whenever he went abroad, he made sure to bring back several pairs. He even changed his shoes for every scene in a film. In his short career, Salman used more than 300 pairs of shoes on screen!

The Day Salman Died

Men usually wear their watches on the left wrist, but Salman always wore his on the right. His collection included several luxury brands. On the day he died, he was wearing a Rado watch worth around 150,000 taka.

He Loved Wearing Jewelry

Whether formal or casual, Salman often accessorized with different types of bracelets. A gold chain always adorned his neck, sometimes with a pendant hanging from it. He wore a single-stone stud in one ear and paired gold rings with gemstone rings on his fingers.

Glasses, Sunglasses, and Caps

Sunglasses and glasses were key elements of Salman’s fashion. With his oval-shaped face, almost any frame suited him perfectly. In films, he was seen wearing round, aviator, clubmaster, and wayfarer-style sunglasses. He also wore round-framed glasses and even used contact lenses along with his stylish eyewear.

Badol Khondokar, the director of Salman Shah’s film Swapner Prithibi, once said, “Back then, whenever you went out on the streets, you’d see countless young men wanting to be Salman. To young women, he was the hero of their dreams. Even now, Salman lives in everyone’s heart. Every aspiring actor today, in truth, wants to be Salman Shah.”
