New AI Tools Introduced for YouTube Shorts
YouTube has introduced a set of new artificial intelligence (AI) tools for creators of YouTube Shorts. The features were announced on Tuesday (16 September) during the platform’s “Made on YouTube” event.
One of the main highlights is a special version of Google’s text-to-video model, “Veo 3 Fast.” With this, users will be able to generate 480p resolution videos in less time. For the first time, the tool can also generate sound along with video.
The new AI features have initially been rolled out in the UK, US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. YouTube has confirmed that the tools will gradually expand to other countries as well.
Among the new functions added to Shorts are:
-
Animation Tool: Turn still images into moving visuals, or transfer motion from one video to another image.
-
Style Transfer: Apply artistic effects such as pop art or origami styles to videos.
-
Prompt-Based Characters & Props: Add new characters or objects to videos simply through text prompts.
-
Remix Tool: Convert dialogue from a specific video into a soundtrack that can be reused in other Shorts.
YouTube stated that these features will be made available to all creators in the coming months.
