Astrophysicist Majed Abu Zahira, head of the Jeddah Astronomy Society, said the phenomenon showcases the precision of celestial calculations, especially those involving the moon. Before the advent of Islam, it was a custom in Makkah that if any danger approached, someone would climb to the top of a hill and cry out loudly to warn the people. Upon hearing this call, everyone would rush to the location in anticipation of urgent news. Following this tradition, one day the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) ascended Mount Safa and cried out loudly, calling the people to gather at dawn. All the clans of the Quraysh tribe quickly assembled at the foot of the mountain. Once they were gathered, the Prophet (PBUH) addressed them with a message of Tawheed (Oneness of Allah), Risalah (Prophethood), and belief in the Hereafter.
