Google Maps Launches Automatic Parking Location Feature for iPhone Users

The Chronify

Google Maps introduces a new feature to help users find their parked cars easily, available for iPhone users with USB, Bluetooth, or CarPlay connectivity.

Google Maps is rolling out a new feature aimed at making it easier for users to locate their parked cars, especially in crowded or complex parking areas. The feature automatically detects where a vehicle was last parked, saving that location for up to 48 hours before it is deleted once the car is moved.

Currently, this feature is being rolled out to select iPhone users. It works when the car is connected to the device via USB, Bluetooth, or CarPlay, and places a temporary pin on the map to mark the parking location. The pin disappears automatically once the car starts moving again.

While manual parking location tracking has been available for some time, this marks the first time Google Maps will automatically track parking spots, a feature already available in Apple Maps and Waze. However, there is no official confirmation as to when this feature will be made available for Android users.
