Google’s ‘AI Mode’ will plan your entire week for you

The Chronify

Google is taking its search experience to the next level. They are adding a new ‘Agentic’ feature to the search AI Mode, allowing users to book event tickets or beauty appointments directly through conversational interaction.

Google has announced that its generative search feature, AI Mode, will now support booking event tickets, beauty, and wellness appointments. This means users can make real-world bookings directly through natural language requests, without needing to visit separate apps or websites.

For example, if someone types or says,
"Find me two cheap tickets for the upcoming Shabujii concert; floor standing tickets would be ideal,"
AI Mode will search various ticketing platforms in real time, show relevant options along with prices, and provide direct booking links.

Currently, these advanced features are only available in the U.S. for experimental users in Search Labs. Premium users particularly those with Google AI Pro or Ultra subscriptions will enjoy higher usage limits and faster processing.

Expansion after restaurant reservations

This is the second phase of Google’s Agentic feature expansion. In August, AI Mode added restaurant reservation support, where users could specify party size, date, time, cuisine, and location to make bookings.

For example, a user could say:
"Reserve dinner for three near Logan Square after 6 PM this Friday; want ramen or bibimbap."
AI Mode would then search reservation platforms and provide a list of suitable restaurants.

Emphasis on reliability and safety

Google stated on its Search Labs page that providing trustworthy and high-quality information is a top priority. The company acknowledges that these features are still experimental and may occasionally make errors.

This focus on reliability and transparency is part of Google’s broader AI strategy, positioning it alongside competitors like Perplexity AI and OpenAI’s ChatGPT Search.
