Dhaka Urges India to Investigate and Bring Perpetrators of Recent Attacks on Minorities to Justice

Bangladesh has expressed deep concern over the recent incidents of minority killings in India. The country has called for an impartial investigation into these incidents and demanded that the Indian authorities bring the perpetrators to justice.

On Sunday (December 28), the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, S.M. Mahbubul Alam, raised these concerns. He highlighted the brutal murders, mob lynchings, arbitrary arrests, and obstructions to religious practices targeting Muslims, Christians, and other minorities in India.

He pointed out the recent heinous murder of a Muslim youth, Jewel Rana, in Odisha, the brutal killing of Mohammad Atahar Hossain in Bihar, the killing of an innocent person in Kerala on suspicion of being Bangladeshi, and numerous other incidents of mob violence and assaults on Muslims and Christians.

The spokesperson also expressed deep concern over the attacks on Christians during Christmas celebrations across India, calling these acts hate crimes and targeted violence.

Mahbubul Alam further emphasized that Bangladesh expects Indian authorities to conduct a neutral investigation and hold the culprits accountable. He stressed that every country has the responsibility to protect and uphold the dignity of its minority communities, and this duty should be fulfilled by all nations.
