Bangladesh Receives $2 Billion in Remittances in First 17 Days of December

Remittances flow continues strong as Bangladesh receives over $2 billion in just the first 17 days of December 2025.
Bangladesh has received $2.007 billion (approximately 200 crore 70 lakh USD) in remittances in the first 17 days of December 2025, with an average daily inflow of $11.81 million. This marks an increase in the remittance flow compared to the same period last year, which recorded $1.76 billion.
According to Bangladesh Bank's Executive Director and Spokesperson, Arif Hossain Khan, the increase is notable, reflecting a positive growth trend in remittances. He also highlighted that on December 17, expatriates sent $17.7 million on a single day.
From July 1 to December 17, a total of $15.045 billion in remittances has been sent to the country, showing a 16.7% year-on-year increase.
In November, Bangladesh saw its highest remittance inflow of the fiscal year, with $2.89 billion, while October and September brought in $2.56 billion and $2.68 billion, respectively. Remittances in August and July stood at $2.42 billion and $2.47 billion, respectively.
In the 2024-25 fiscal year, the total remittance reached $30.32 billion, setting a new record for the highest expatriate income in the country's history.
