Rohan, a talented photographer from Bangladesh, won the Doha Photography Award for his striking image of traditional rice processing in rural Bangladesh. His photograph, which captured the essence of daily life and culture, secured third place in the "Colors" category.

Bangladeshi photographer Tanvir Hasan Rohan has won the prestigious Doha Photography Award, securing a cash prize of 75,000 Qatari Riyals (approximately 25 lakh Bangladeshi Taka). The award was presented to him by Qatar's Minister of Culture, Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad bin Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani on November 5, 2025.

Rohan's winning photograph, titled "Traditional Rice Process in Bangladesh", captured workers drying rice in a traditional setting at a threshing floor in Brahmanbaria. The photograph not only showcased the hard work of laborers but also highlighted the rich cultural heritage of rural Bangladesh.

Reflecting on his achievement, Rohan shared, “Bangladesh is a country where culture and tradition are deeply ingrained. This photograph captures the daily life of workers in the country’s threshing floors, a true representation of our rural heritage.”

The Doha competition saw a significant number of submissions, with over 31,000 photos submitted by 5,206 photographers worldwide. Rohan’s work earned him third place in the “Colors” category, while the first and second places went to photographers from Qatar and Bahrain.

Rohan, who was born and raised in Dhaka, has previously won numerous prestigious awards, including the National Geographic Travel Photographer of the Year in 2017 and 2018. His works have been showcased in 45 countries, contributing to his growing international reputation in the field of photography.
