Appointment rescheduling for visa applicants following closure
Due to the current security situation, the Indian Visa Application Centre (IVAC) in Dhaka has been closed from noon today, Wednesday, December 17. In a notice issued by the centre, it was stated that all visa applicants scheduled for today would be given new appointments at a later date.
The IVAC is located in Jamuna Future Park in the capital and serves as the primary and coordinating centre for all Indian visa-related services in Bangladesh.
The closure comes in the wake of ongoing political unrest, including protests scheduled by the united front "July Unity," which aims to rally against various political actions, such as the demand for the return of exiled former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and other political figures. These protests, named "March to High Commission," are set to begin at 3:00 PM today from Rampura Bridge in Dhaka.
The Indian Visa Centre has assured that rescheduled appointments will be communicated to those affected by the temporary closure.
