Leaked Document Alleges UAE Provided Military, Intelligence Support to Israel Throughout Gaza War
The Chronify
A leaked confidential document claims the United Arab Emirates offered Israel extensive military, intelligence and logistical support during the Gaza war, including access to UAE military bases across the Red Sea region.
The United Arab Emirates allegedly provided Israel with direct military, intelligence and logistical assistance throughout the Gaza war, according to a leaked confidential document obtained by the investigative platform Emirate Leaks.
The document, dated October 2023, was reportedly addressed to the Joint Operations Command of the UAE Armed Forces. It is attributed to Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the ruler’s representative in the Al Dhafra region and chairman of the UAE Red Crescent Authority.
According to the document, the decision to assist Israel was taken in the aftermath of the October 7 attacks and was framed as being consistent with “existing historical agreements” between the two sides. The text states that, following directives from the Joint Operations Command, rapid preparations were made to allow Israel to use UAE military bases located in the southern Red Sea region.
The bases cited in the document reportedly include facilities in Al-Mokha on Yemen’s western coast, Massawa and Assab in Eritrea, as well as UAE-linked installations in Somalia. Special emphasis was placed on readying the Yemen-based facilities with all necessary equipment and operational capabilities to support Israeli military activities.
The alleged support included intelligence cooperation, logistical backing and access to strategic locations that could facilitate operations linked to the Gaza war. If verified, the revelations would suggest a far deeper level of regional involvement in the conflict than previously acknowledged publicly.
Neither the UAE government nor Israeli authorities have officially commented on the leaked document. Independent verification of the claims has not yet been possible. However, analysts note that the allegations, if substantiated, could have significant implications for regional geopolitics, particularly given the humanitarian toll of Israel’s war on Gaza and the sensitivities surrounding Arab states’ relations with Israel following the Abraham Accords.
The Gaza war has resulted in tens of thousands of Palestinian deaths and widespread destruction, drawing intense international scrutiny and accusations of war crimes — making any alleged external military support a matter of major global concern.
