Over 350 IS Suspects Arrested Across Türkiye

Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office reported that arrest warrants had been issued for 17 suspected Daesh members, including 11 foreign nationals

Turkish authorities have detained 357 people nationwide in a wide-ranging operation targeting the Daesh terrorist network, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced today.

In a statement shared on the local social media platform NSosyal, Yerlikaya said coordinated counterterrorism raids were carried out simultaneously in 21 provinces. The operations involved provincial police teams working alongside chief public prosecutors’ offices, as well as counterterrorism and intelligence units. He stressed that Türkiye maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism.

Earlier in the day, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office confirmed the arrest of 110 suspects in the city. According to prosecutors, 41 of those detained were connected to militants involved in a security operation in Yalova province on Monday, during which six Daesh members were killed. Investigators said the Istanbul suspects were preparing potential attacks in the city around New Year’s celebrations.

Prosecutors said the individuals were identified through the examination of digital evidence collected during earlier investigations into Daesh-related activities.
