Prime minister reviews ministry activities, stresses accountability, teacher training and technology-driven education during first official visit.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Tuesday paid his first official visit to the Ministry of Education since assuming office, reviewing its overall operations and outlining the government's priorities for improving Bangladesh's education system.



During the visit to the Secretariat in Dhaka, the prime minister held meetings with senior ministry officials, heads of affiliated departments and agencies, as well as experienced education administrators serving at the field level.


Officials presented detailed updates on the ministry's ongoing activities, development projects, implementation of national education policies and administrative performance. After reviewing the progress, the prime minister provided directives aimed at improving efficiency and accelerating reforms across the sector.


Discussions focused on enhancing the quality of education, ensuring regular student attendance in classrooms, improving teaching effectiveness, expanding continuous and modern teacher training programmes, promoting technology-based learning and strengthening institutional accountability.


The prime minister also engaged directly with experienced field-level education officials, who shared their assessments of the country's education system, highlighting existing challenges and offering recommendations to improve learning outcomes. Tarique Rahman said practical experiences from educators working on the ground should play a greater role in shaping future policies and their implementation.



Reaffirming the government's commitment to education, the prime minister said ensuring quality education for every student remains one of the administration's highest priorities. He stressed that coordinated initiatives, effective monitoring and timely policy implementation would continue to drive improvements at every level of the education system.



Concluding the visit, Tarique Rahman urged ministry officials and employees to uphold professionalism, dedication and a strong commitment to public service while working towards the overall development and modernisation of Bangladesh's education sector.
