Tariq Rahman Takes Charge as BNP Chairman
Tariq Rahman assumes leadership of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) after the position became vacant due to the passing of Begum Khaleda Zia.
Tariq Rahman has officially taken charge as the Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). This announcement was made following a meeting of the party's National Standing Committee, which took place on Friday night (January 9) at the BNP Chairperson's office in Gulshan, Dhaka.
According to a press release, the position of BNP Chairman became vacant due to the death of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson, Begum Khaleda Zia. In light of this, a meeting of the National Standing Committee was held in accordance with the party's constitution.
During the meeting, it was unanimously decided that Tariq Rahman would formally assume the role of BNP Chairman. This decision follows the guidelines set out in the party's constitution, marking a significant development for the BNP leadership.
