Walton, one of the country’s leading electronics and technology brands, has started exporting motherboards (PCB and PCBA) to the United States for the first time. To mark the occasion, a grand ceremony was held on Monday at Walton’s corporate office in Dhaka.
Walton, one of Bangladesh’s leading electronics and technology brands, has started exporting motherboards (PCB and PCBA) to the United States for the first time. The initial shipment, consisting of over 2,500 motherboards worth approximately BDT 2.5 million, is being sent to SafePro Technologies Incorporated, an IT company based in Wisconsin. Walton already exports “Made in Bangladesh” electronics to more than 50 countries worldwide.
A grand ceremony was held on Monday at Walton’s corporate office in Dhaka to mark the occasion. Chief guest Foyez Ahmed Tayyab, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser, attended along with Shish Haider Chowdhury, Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, as a special guest. Other dignitaries included S.M. Rezaul Alam, Chairman of Walton Digi-Tech Industries Limited; S.M. Manjurul Alam, Managing Director; Nishat Tasnim, CEO of Walton Micro-Tech Corporation; and Adil Hossain, MD and CEO of Exntech, a partner of Robi Axiata. Paul L. Eckert, founder and president of importing company SafePro Technologies, joined the event online.
Foyez Ahmed Tayyab said, “We are exporting motherboards to the country that hosts Silicon Valley. Undoubtedly, this is a historic milestone for both Walton and Bangladesh.” He advised Walton to build a robust ecosystem by expanding into AI-based software, networking, and cybersecurity devices alongside hardware products to stay competitive in the global tech market.
Secretary Shish Haider Chowdhury added, “The United States is importing advanced technology products such as motherboards from Bangladesh. This is not just a proud moment for Walton but a historic achievement for the entire country.”
Paul L. Eckert said, “We are thrilled to receive world-class motherboards from Walton. Their products will undoubtedly enhance the quality of our security devices.”
At the same event, guests also unveiled Walton’s new eco-friendly Takion electric bikes (e-bikes), designed for the new market. Featuring modern design, powerful motors, long-lasting battery backup, and operating costs as low as 10–15 cents per kilometer, these e-bikes aim to provide smart and environmentally friendly transportation solutions for both urban and rural lifestyles in Bangladesh.
