Dr. Shafiqur Rahman to Contest in 13th Parliamentary Elections
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has officially collected his nomination form to run for the Dhaka-15 constituency in the upcoming 13th parliamentary elections. On December 25, 2025, a delegation led by Jamaat Assistant Secretary General Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair submitted the nomination form at the office of the returning officer in Agargaon, Dhaka.
The delegation also included Maulana Abdul Halim, Assistant Secretary General of Jamaat, and Abdur Rahman Musa, the Dhaka South City Nayeb-e-Amir. This nomination marks Dr. Shafiqur Rahman’s official entry into the race for the seat, as the nation prepares for the general elections scheduled for February 12, 2026.
In addition to the parliamentary elections, Bangladesh will also hold its first-ever simultaneous referendum on the July National Charter.
