BNP’s Acting Chairman Pledges to Rebuild Bangladesh with a Clear Roadmap

After 17 years of exile, BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman returned to Bangladesh with a strong vision for the country’s future. Addressing a massive reception on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at the 36 July Expressway (Purbachal 300 Feet), Rahman shared his clear and specific plans for the nation’s reconstruction.

Drawing inspiration from Martin Luther King’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech, Rahman declared, “Today, I am saying – I have a plan.” He went on to outline his vision of an inclusive and safe Bangladesh, where citizens can live without fear and return home safely each day.

He emphasized the importance of unity, urging the general public to work together with him to realize these goals. Rahman’s speech was a call for the creation of a new Bangladesh—one that is free of autocracy and built on the foundation of democracy and safety for all.

Earlier in the day, Rahman’s flight landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, where he was greeted with emotional tributes from his supporters. Upon his arrival, he touched the ground, paying his respects to his homeland. Rahman was welcomed with flowers by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and other senior leaders.

As Rahman traveled to the reception venue in a bulletproof bus, the streets were filled with millions of supporters, chanting slogans in his honor. By 3:50 PM, he reached the event, where he began his eagerly awaited speech, urging the nation to unite for a brighter, freer Bangladesh.
