Protests and rallies titled “No Kings” were held in many cities across the United States on Saturday against President Donald Trump’s immigration, education, and security policies. Organizers said they believe such demonstrations took place in more than 2,600 locations nationwide.

The Guardian reported that on this day, protests and rallies against the Trump administration took place in all 50 states of the United States. The protesters claimed that the country is moving towards authoritarianism and that there should be no king here.

The Guardian also stated that several hundred thousand people participated in the “No King” protests that day.

In many places, protesters were seen holding placards with slogans like “Nothing is more patriotic than protesting” and “Resist Fascism.”

The protests resembled a kind of street festival in many ways.

This January, after Trump’s return to the White House, this was the third largest mass protest against him. The protests are taking place at a time when the U.S. federal government is in a shutdown. Yesterday marked the 18th day of the shutdown. Due to the lack of funding, many federal programs and services have been halted.

Protesters gathered at key locations such as Times Square in New York, Boston Common, and Grant Park in Chicago to voice their opposition to Trump’s policies.

Trump was not in Washington yesterday. He was staying at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.

The day before, on Friday, in an interview aired on Fox News, Trump said, “They are calling me a king. I am not a king.”

More than a hundred organizers jointly arranged the protests across the United States on Saturday.
