Cristiano Ronaldo to Produce and Star in British Football Drama ‘Day 1s’

Cristiano Ronaldo is set to expand his entertainment portfolio by producing and starring in a new British football television drama titled Day 1s, marking another major step into the film and television industry.

The 41-year-old Portuguese football legend will serve as an executive producer and also appear in the series, which is set against the backdrop of British football and its high-stakes transfer market.

The drama will follow fictional football agent Stanley Dalton, portrayed by Homeland star Damian Lewis. Former Arsenal and France striker Thierry Henry is also attached to the project alongside British rapper Dave and rising actress Carlotta Banat.

Day 1s is being developed by UR. Marv Studios, the production company Ronaldo launched earlier this year with acclaimed filmmaker Matthew Vaughn, known for directing blockbuster films such as Kingsman and Kick-Ass.

The concept for the series was created by executive producer Darren Dein, who is also Thierry Henry’s longtime agent. Industry insiders believe the project is expected to attract significant interest from major streaming platforms because of its high-profile cast and creative team.

The series aims to capitalize on the growing international popularity of British football, particularly in the United States, where interest surged following the recently concluded FIFA World Cup. Unlike football-themed comedies such as Ted Lasso, Day 1s is expected to focus on dramatic storytelling while incorporating lighter comedic moments.

Earlier this year, Vaughn described his partnership with Ronaldo as an opportunity to bring compelling stories to audiences, praising the football superstar’s remarkable career. Ronaldo also expressed enthusiasm for the venture, calling it an exciting new chapter beyond football.

The announcement comes shortly after Ronaldo confirmed that the 2026 FIFA World Cup was his final appearance at football’s biggest tournament. Portugal exited the competition in the Round of 16 after defeat to eventual champions Spain.


Although Ronaldo acknowledged it was his last World Cup, he stopped short of announcing his retirement from international football. The veteran forward said he would take time to reflect on his future before making any final decisions.

As one of football’s most recognizable figures, Ronaldo’s move into television production adds to his growing business interests and signals an ambitious expansion into the global entertainment industry while maintaining his influence beyond the pitch.
