The National Citizen Party and the Liberal Democratic Party have joined the Jamaat-led alliance. With the new additions, the alliance has expanded from eight to ten parties.

The National Citizen Party (NCP) and the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) have formally joined the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami-led eight-party alliance, turning it into a ten-party coalition.

The announcement was made on Sunday at a press conference held at the National Press Club by Jamaat Ameer Shafiqur Rahman.

Speaking to journalists, Dr Shafiqur Rahman said he had spoken earlier in the day with Nahid Islam, Convener of the National Citizen Party. He added that the NCP would issue its formal announcement confirming the decision by Sunday night.

Leaders from other alliance partners were also present at the press conference, underscoring what Jamaat leaders described as a step toward broader political coordination ahead of the upcoming national political developments.
