Night Temperatures Expected to Drop by 1-2°C, Forecasts Bangladesh Meteorological Department
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted a further drop in night temperatures over the next few days, with cold winds making the chill more severe.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast that night temperatures across the country will drop by 1-2°C starting tonight (December 29). According to a regular 24-hour bulletin, the BMD also anticipates a slight decline in daytime temperatures.
The drop in temperatures is expected to be exacerbated by cold winds coming from the northwest, intensifying the chill. Additionally, moderate to dense fog is expected to cover many parts of the country from midnight until noon, further reducing visibility and contributing to the cold conditions.
As of today, Kishoreganj’s Nikli recorded the lowest temperature in the country at 10°C. The BMD noted that the high-pressure system currently located over West Bengal and surrounding areas is expected to contribute to the further drop in temperatures over the next five days.
Though a slight rise in temperatures was initially predicted for midweek, the five-day forecast now indicates that both night and day temperatures will likely continue to decrease, especially at the beginning of January.
