Authorities take action after SSC candidates were examined with incorrect question papers, raising concerns over fairness and results.
Two examination officials in Barishal’s Uzirpur upazila have been removed from their duties after an investigation confirmed that SSC candidates were given the wrong question paper during an exam.
The Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Md Ali Suja, ordered the removal of centre secretary Md Faruk Hossain and assistant teacher Khagen Mondal on Thursday after verifying the allegations through an official inquiry.
According to the findings, students were mistakenly provided with the 2026 question paper intended for regular candidates instead of the 2025 paper designated for irregular examinees. The mistake has created uncertainty regarding the results of the affected students.
Authorities said prompt action was taken following complaints, emphasizing that protecting students’ academic future remains a top priority. Necessary steps are being considered to address the impact of the error and ensure fair evaluation.
In a related development, another centre secretary and head teacher, Sushen Mondal of Shahid Smaronika Secondary School, was also relieved of his duties on the first day of the SSC examinations over separate allegations of irregularities. Officials have assured that stricter monitoring will be implemented to prevent such incidents in the future.
