Global Muslim Outrage After Epstein Files Allege Desecration of Sacred Kaaba Cloth
The Chronify
Newly released documents linked to the Epstein files have sparked widespread anger across the Muslim world over claims that sacred pieces of the Kaaba’s Kiswah were mishandled after being shipped from Saudi Arabia to the United States.
Fresh revelations connected to the Epstein files have ignited intense outrage among Muslims worldwide following allegations that parts of the sacred Kiswah of the Kaaba were shipped abroad and later desecrated by convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
According to claims contained in recently examined documents, pieces of the Kiswah — the black cloth that covers the Kaaba in Mecca, Islam’s holiest site — were transported from Saudi Arabia to the United States in early 2017 and ultimately came into Epstein’s possession. The documents further allege that Epstein placed the sacred cloth on the floor, an act widely viewed by Muslims as a grave insult and desecration of a revered religious symbol.
The allegations were highlighted in a report published by Middle East Eye, which reviewed correspondence and shipping records included in the Epstein files. The report states that the transfer of the Kiswah fragments was allegedly facilitated through contacts linked to the United Arab Emirates, with logistics handled by a major international airline. The shipment reportedly moved from Saudi Arabia to the United States before reaching Epstein’s property in the US Virgin Islands.
The documents name UAE-based businesswoman Aziza al-Ahmadi and an associate, Abdullah al-Maari, as individuals involved in arranging the transfer of three items connected to the Kiswah. Emails cited in the files reportedly detail how the cloth pieces were packaged, transported, and delivered, despite their immense religious significance.
Muslim scholars, activists, and social media users have reacted with shock and anger, describing the alleged treatment of the Kiswah as deeply offensive and unacceptable. Many have called for a thorough investigation into how sacred Islamic artefacts were allowed to leave Saudi Arabia and end up in the hands of a disgraced financier.
The revelations have also renewed scrutiny of Epstein’s global network of contacts and the handling of sensitive religious and cultural items. While the claims have yet to be independently verified in court, they have intensified demands for transparency and accountability from all parties allegedly involved.
As the debate continues, religious leaders and commentators stress that the incident, if confirmed, represents not only a personal act of disrespect but a broader failure to safeguard one of Islam’s most sacred symbols.
