Italian authorities have launched a full-scale investigation after three members of a Bangladeshi family were found stabbed to death inside their home in Rome. A fourth family member survived the attack but remains hospitalized with serious injuries as investigators work to determine the motive behind the deadly incident.

Italian police have opened a homicide investigation after three members of a Bangladeshi family were found dead inside their apartment in the Italian capital, Rome, in what authorities have described as a brutal knife attack.

The incident occurred on Friday evening in the Aurelio district of Rome, where emergency responders discovered the victims inside a residential building on Via Montiglio after receiving reports of a violent incident. Police and forensic investigators immediately secured the area and began collecting evidence as part of an extensive criminal investigation.

According to preliminary findings, the victims were a married couple and their minor daughter. Investigators said all three sustained fatal injuries caused by a sharp weapon and were pronounced dead at the scene.

A fourth member of the family survived the attack but suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Medical officials said the survivor remains under close observation, though authorities have not released further details regarding the individual's condition or identity.

Italian law enforcement agencies have yet to determine the motive behind the killings. Officials have also not publicly identified any suspects, stating that multiple lines of inquiry remain under examination.

Police investigators, assisted by forensic specialists, spent several hours examining the apartment and surrounding area, collecting physical evidence and interviewing potential witnesses in an effort to reconstruct the sequence of events leading to the fatal attack.

Authorities described the case as highly sensitive and said every possible angle is being investigated, including personal, family-related and criminal motives. Officials stressed that it remains too early to draw conclusions while forensic examinations and witness interviews continue.

According to available information, the victims were members of the Bangladeshi community living in Italy. Their ancestral home is reported to be in Companiganj Upazila of Noakhali district in Bangladesh.

Initial reports indicate that the family had no known criminal history, and investigators have not suggested any previous involvement in unlawful activities. This has further deepened the mystery surrounding the killings.

The incident has shocked both the local community in Rome and members of the Bangladeshi diaspora, many of whom have expressed grief over the tragic loss of an entire family. Community members are reportedly cooperating with investigators while awaiting further information from Italian authorities.

Police have appealed for patience as forensic examinations continue and have urged anyone with information that could assist the investigation to come forward. Investigators are expected to review surveillance footage from nearby buildings, examine digital evidence and conduct additional interviews as part of the inquiry.

Officials have not announced any arrests, and no official explanation has yet been provided regarding the circumstances that led to the fatal attack.

The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities expected to release additional information once forensic analysis is completed and detectives establish a clearer understanding of the events surrounding one of the most serious incidents involving a Bangladeshi family in Rome in recent years.
