A Class 7 boy’s craving for momo led to a shocking incident in Uttar Pradesh, where his family lost jewellery worth Rs 85 lakh in exchange for free snacks.
In a bizarre turn of events, a Class 7 boy from Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, exchanged his family’s jewellery worth nearly Rs 85 lakh for free momo from a local street vendor. The shocking incident came to light when the boy’s family discovered their jewellery was missing, prompting a police investigation.
According to the complaint filed by Vimlesh Mishra, a temple priest in Varanasi, his son, who was fond of momo, had been lured by three men operating a momo stall. The stall owners convinced the boy that he could receive free momo in exchange for jewellery. Over time, the boy took jewellery from home and handed it over to the vendors in exchange for his favourite snack.
The truth came to light when Vimlesh’s sister visited the house and noticed the jewellery was missing. After questioning the boy, he revealed that he had given the jewellery to the momo sellers. Vimlesh later filed a complaint with the police, naming the three accused, and an investigation was launched.
