53 Arrested in Joint Operation in Mohammadpur with Weapons and Drugs Seized

53 individuals involved in various crimes, including drugs and weapons, were arrested in a joint operation in Mohammadpur.

In a five-hour operation on December 23, 2025, a joint task force consisting of Dhaka Metropolitan Police and the Army arrested 53 individuals involved in illegal activities in Mohammadpur. The operation took place between 6:00 AM and 11:00 AM, and resulted in the confiscation of significant contraband and weapons.

The arrested individuals were identified as Mahbubul Alam, Shahjada, Arif Hasan, Sohel, Riyad, Roni Sorkar, and others, with their names listed in the police report. Among the seized items were 40 kg of cannabis, 200 yaba pills, 9 machetes and samurais, 10 knives, and 12 stolen mobile phones.

According to the Deputy Police Commissioner of the Media and Public Relations Department, Muhammad Talebur Rahman, the arrested individuals have been sent to court for further proceedings.
