Bangladesh Sends Medical Aid to Iran Under Tk 1 Crore Humanitarian Grant

Emergency medicine supplies dispatched as Dhaka expresses solidarity amid Middle East tensions

Bangladesh has sent emergency medical assistance to Iran as part of a humanitarian initiative funded by a Tk 1 crore donation from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. The aid package includes essential medicines and medical supplies intended to support civilians affected by the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.

 

The handover ceremony took place in Dhaka, where officials from the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society formally delivered the supplies to Iranian Ambassador Jalil Rahimi Jahannabadi. Senior representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Red Crescent were also present during the event.
 

Authorities stated that the initiative reflects Bangladesh’s commitment to humanitarian support and international solidarity during times of conflict. Officials reiterated that the country consistently supports peaceful resolution of global crises through diplomatic efforts.
 

The Iranian envoy expressed gratitude for the assistance, highlighting the strong bilateral ties between Bangladesh and Iran and appreciating the gesture of support during a difficult period.
 

The Bangladesh Red Crescent Society noted that the contribution was used to procure urgent medical supplies aimed at assisting injured civilians, emphasizing its ongoing role in providing humanitarian relief in conflict-affected regions worldwide.
