Bangladesh to Release Newly Designed Tk 10 Banknote Tomorrow
Bangladesh Bank is set to release a newly designed Tk 10 banknote tomorrow as part of its initiative to introduce a new series of currency notes, featuring prominent national symbols.
Bangladesh Bank (BB) is set to release a newly designed Tk 10 banknote tomorrow, marking a significant step in its ongoing initiative to introduce a new series of currency notes. The new Tk 10 note will be initially available from the Motijheel office of Bangladesh Bank, with plans to make it available at other branches across the country in the near future.
The newly designed note will bear the signature of BB Governor Ahsan H Mansur. On the front, the left side of the note will feature the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Dhaka, while the center will showcase the national flower, the waterlily, in the background. The reverse side will carry a graffiti image from 2024, adding a modern touch to the design.
The central bank confirmed that the existing Tk 10 paper notes currently in circulation will remain valid alongside the new design. Additionally, non-exchangeable specimen notes will be printed for collectors and made available at a fixed price at the Currency Museum in Mirpur.
This release is part of Bangladesh Bank’s broader initiative to print new banknotes across all denominations (Tk 1,000, Tk 500, Tk 200, Tk 100, Tk 50, Tk 20, Tk 10, Tk 5, and Tk 2) under the theme “Historical and Archaeological Architecture of Bangladesh.” To date, the Tk 1,000, Tk 500, Tk 100, Tk 50, and Tk 20 notes have already been introduced into circulation.
