Professor Muhammad Yunus visits the museum dedicated to the July Revolution and emphasizes the need for such memorials to be unnecessary in the future.

On January 20, 2026, Chief Adviser to the Interim Government, Professor Muhammad Yunus, visited the July Revolution Memorial Museum to inspect the final phase of its construction. The museum, which chronicles the 16 years of tyranny and the revolutionary movement of students and the public, houses numerous historical artifacts related to the July Revolution.

During his visit, the Chief Adviser expressed his deep emotions, stating, "This museum was made possible only through the blood of the martyrs of July, and it stands as a unique example for the entire world. However, we do not want to see the need for such museums in the future."

Accompanied by key political figures, including Salahuddin Ahmed from BNP, Shafiqur Rahman from Jamaat-e-Islami, and Nahid Islam from the National Citizens' Party, Yunus toured the museum, which features poignant exhibits such as the garments of the martyrs, their final letters, and visuals of the historic escape of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The museum also includes rooms designed like "Aynaghar" (mirror rooms) where visitors can immerse themselves in the harsh conditions faced by prisoners during the era. Yunus emphasized that citizens, especially students, should visit the museum to understand the brutal realities of the past.

The museum will soon be open to the public, with its final phase of construction expected to be completed before the upcoming national elections. Cultural Adviser Mustafa Sarwar Faruqi thanked all volunteers who contributed to this historic project. The museum is set to play a key role in political discourse, arts, literature, and research in Bangladesh.
