'China Ready to Work With Elected Government''

China signaled readiness to engage with a democratically elected Bangladesh, focusing on post-election cooperation, development, and strengthened bilateral ties.
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), said that China has conveyed its readiness to cooperate with a legitimately elected government in Bangladesh.
The statement was made by BNP Joint Secretary General Humayun Kabir following a meeting between the party’s Acting Chairman, Tarique Rahman, and a Chinese delegation led by Yao Wen, Ambassador of China to Bangladesh.
Humayun Kabir said the discussions focused on boosting Bangladesh’s economic growth and strengthening bilateral ties in the post-election period. The meeting was held in the evening at the BNP Chairperson’s political office in Gulshan.
Speaking to reporters afterward, he noted that both sides exchanged views on expanding future cooperation aimed at supporting Bangladesh’s long-term development.
He further said the Chinese delegation also sought opinions regarding the potential role of Tarique Rahman in advancing national development efforts and improving public welfare following the elections.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Press Secretary to the Acting Chairman Saleh Shibli, and Political Adviser Mahadi Amin were also present at the meeting.
