Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, promises state-funded education up to the Master's level and emphasizes the importance of free education and equal rights for all citizens.

On February 6, 2026, during an electoral rally organized by the district Jamaat-e-Islami in Pirojpur, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, the Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, outlined his party’s commitment to ensuring free education for every child in Bangladesh if the party comes to power. He stated that under a Jamaat government, every child in the country would have access to free education up to the Master's level.

Dr. Rahman also criticized the current government for alleged corruption, claiming that past mega-projects were riddled with corruption, and that the government had embezzled 28 trillion taka, which rightfully belongs to the people. He vowed that if Jamaat-e-Islami was given the chance, they would not allow further looting and would bring all the stolen money back to the people.

Addressing the youth, Dr. Rahman assured them that Jamaat would provide proper education and professional training to make them skilled and ready for honorable jobs. He also emphasized the importance of women’s dignity and safety, stating that the nation could not tolerate disrespect for mothers and that their protection must be ensured at home, at workplaces, and everywhere.

Dr. Rahman declared that Jamaat-e-Islami stands for equal rights for all citizens, regardless of their religion or ethnicity. He promised that there would be no discrimination based on Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, Christian, or indigenous identity. All citizens would have equal rights under a Jamaat government.

As the country approaches the upcoming elections on February 12, Dr. Rahman called on the people to unite and vote for Jamaat-e-Islami to establish a new Bangladesh, free from corruption and oppression. He urged the voters to remember the phrase "Yes means freedom, No means slavery" and support the party for a corruption-free, fair society.

Dr. Rahman also reiterated his call for justice for the martyrs of the July movement and urged the people to cast their votes in favor of Jamaat to ensure justice and a better future for all.

The rally was attended by various leaders, including Jamaat’s Central Assistant Secretary Advocate Muazzam Hossain Helal, Labor Party Chairman Dr. Mustafizur Rahman, and candidates for Pirojpur-1 and Pirojpur-2, Masud Saidi and Shamim Saidi, respectively. Later, Dr. Rahman handed the party symbols to the candidates.
