How to Get an International Driving License in Bangladesh

Issuing Authority
In Bangladesh, the Automobile Association of Bangladesh (AAB), a member of the International Automobile Federation (FIA), issues the IDP.

Required Documents

• Valid Bangladeshi driving license (minimum 1-month validity)

• Passport copy

• NID copy

• 1 attested passport-size photo + 4–5 stamp-size photos

• Completed IDP application form

• Fee: BDT 2,500 (regular) / BDT 3,500 (urgent)

Application Process

1. Download and fill out the application form from AAB’s official site.

2. Submit form, required documents, and fee at AAB office (10:30 AM–3:30 PM).

3. Processing time: 7–15 days (up to 2–3 months if issues arise).

4. Collect IDP from AAB office upon SMS notification.

IDP issued in Bangladesh is accepted in around 150 countries, including:

• Europe: France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland

• North America: USA, Canada, Mexico

• Asia: Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Korea

• Africa: Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Namibia
