The Chronify
In a constituency dominated by expensive campaigns, independent candidate Md. Azizar Rahman is gaining attention for his simple, grassroots campaign strategy. Traveling alone on a bicycle, he connects with voters directly, focusing on local issues such as education and healthcare.
In the Gaibandha-3 (Sadullapur-Palashbari) constituency, where most political candidates rely on elaborate campaigns involving large teams and expensive vehicles, independent candidate Md. Azizar Rahman is taking a different, more modest route. A school teacher by profession, Azizar campaigns alone, riding an old bicycle and using a hand microphone to travel from village to village and meet voters directly.
Without the support of campaign vehicles or paid workers, Azizar makes it a point to visit markets, village intersections, and households every day, starting early in the morning. He engages with voters, holds meetings, and has already conducted over a hundred gatherings across the remote areas of the constituency. His discussions primarily focus on education, healthcare, and addressing the everyday problems of ordinary people.
Although he has contested elections before without securing a win, his dedication to public service has not wavered. His unique approach to campaigning has drawn significant attention on both social media and mainstream platforms, with many praising his efforts as a true reflection of democracy and genuine public connection.
Despite his limited resources, Azizar Rahman’s direct interactions with the people have encouraged him to continue his mission. If elected, he hopes to collaborate with the community for the development of the local area.
