Three Individuals Confess Their Role in the Killing of Inkilab Platform Spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi

In a significant development in the murder case of political and cultural activist Sharif Osman Hadi, key suspects have confessed their involvement. On December 24, 2025, the Metropolitan Magistrate Courts in Dhaka recorded confessions from three individuals: Hadi's wife Saheda Parveen Samiya, her brother Wahid Ahmed Sipu, and her friend Maria Akter Lima.

The confessions came after the suspects, who were arrested on December 14, 2025, were brought before the court following a four-day remand. They voluntarily agreed to give confessional statements regarding their involvement in the murder of Hadi, the spokesperson for the Inkilab Platform. The suspects were sent to jail following the court's proceedings.

On December 12, 2025, Hadi was attacked by gunmen on a motorcycle near Box Culvert Road in the Paltan area of Dhaka. The assailants shot him in the head and neck, leaving him critically injured. After receiving treatment in Dhaka, Hadi was flown to Singapore on December 15, where he succumbed to his injuries.

An attempt on Hadi's life was initially filed as an attempt to murder, but it was later reclassified as a murder case. The murder has sparked intense reactions, with calls for justice growing louder.
