The accused has been identified as Mashiur Rahman Khan Samrat (40), son of the late Salam of Savar’s Bank Colony area. Dhaka District Police Additional Superintendent (Crime, Ops and Traffic North) Arafatul Islam disclosed the information at a press conference held at Savar Model Police Station around 11:00am.

Police said the detainee later confessed to involvement in all six killings, including those linked to the abandoned community centre. Investigators are now working to verify the confession, identify the victims, and determine the motives behind the murders.
Law enforcement officials said further legal proceedings are under way, and efforts are being made to reconstruct the full timeline of the killings as well as assess whether any negligence contributed to the repeated use of the same abandoned building as a crime scene.
