The Hadi Family Decides Against Participation in National Election Following Osman Hadi's Tragic Passing
No member of the Hadi family will contest in the upcoming national elections, confirming the decision of Omar Hadi, the elder brother of the late Shahid Sharif Osman Hadi. The decision was made following extensive discussions within the family.
Shahid Sharif Osman Hadi, the founder and spokesperson of the Inkilab Mancha, had been preparing to run for the Dhaka-8 constituency in the elections before his untimely death. There had been speculations that Osman Hadi's older sister might contest from his seat, but the family has decided not to participate in the election this time.
Osman Hadi had begun election preparations, working actively in his constituency. He quickly gained popularity among the people, who supported him financially and morally. Despite facing challenges, he built strong connections with the residents, who considered him one of their own.
Omar Hadi, in a statement, confirmed that the family had collectively decided not to field any candidates for the election this year. Osman Hadi tragically passed away on December 18, after being shot on December 12 following Jumu'ah prayers in the Paltan area. His death was a major blow to the family, and they have yet to recover from their grief.
Osman Hadi was laid to rest at Dhaka University on December 20, beside the grave of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.
