Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) authorities have confirmed that the condition of Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur is improving following serious injuries sustained during a recent clash in the capital.

Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur, who was critically injured during a clash in Dhaka’s Kakrail area on August 29, is showing gradual improvement under medical care, according to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Director Brig Gen Md Asaduzzaman.

Nur is currently being treated for four major injuries, including a fractured nasal bone, a broken jaw, an eye injury, and a brain hemorrhage. Doctors reported that the hemorrhage is subsiding and recent CT scan results appeared satisfactory. Despite ongoing trauma, his overall condition is described as stable.

A six-member medical board has been formed to oversee his treatment and ensure comprehensive medical support.

The incident occurred when a procession of the Gono Odhikar Parishad passed in front of the Jatiya Party (JaPa) office in Kakrail, triggering a clash between activists of both groups. Law enforcement intervened with baton charges, leading to injuries among several Gono Odhikar Parishad members, including Nur.
