Islamic scholar Mizanur Rahman Azhari mourns the loss of Osman Hadi, who passed away on December 18, 2025, at Singapore General Hospital. Azhari recalls Hadi's heroic struggle and his ultimate martyrdom.

Osman Hadi, the spokesperson of the Inquilab Mancha, passed away on December 18, 2025, at approximately 9:30 PM while undergoing treatment at Singapore General Hospital. His death has sparked an outpouring of grief, particularly from Islamic scholar Mizanur Rahman Azhari, who expressed his condolences via a Facebook post. Azhari referred to Hadi’s death as a tragic event, noting that he has now joined the ranks of martyrs like Abrar Fahad and Abu Sayeed.

 

In his post, Azhari wrote, "Osman Hadi has now joined the ranks of Abrar Fahad and Abu Sayeed. Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajioon. May Allah accept his sacrifice, grant him the highest status of martyrdom, and make him a guest in Jannah."

 

Earlier, Osman Hadi had been critically wounded in a shooting incident on December 12, 2025, when two assailants on a motorcycle shot him at point-blank range while he was campaigning for the Dhaka-8 parliamentary seat. Hadi was immediately rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where it was determined that the bullet entered the right side of his head and exited through the left side, though fragments remained in his brain.

 

Despite the grave condition, Hadi was transferred to Evercare Hospital at his family’s request. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was then airlifted to Singapore for advanced treatment on December 15. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries while in Singapore.

 

Hadi’s death has prompted national mourning, with the government announcing a state of mourning on the day of his passing. The martyrdom of Osman Hadi, who had been a vocal critic of Indian hegemony, has left a significant mark on the political and social landscape of Bangladesh.
