Police Investigating Incident of Envelope Attached to Tarique Rahman's Car
Unidentified motorcyclist tapes white envelope to BNP chairman's vehicle in Gulshan; contents remain undisclosed.
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) are investigating an incident in which an unknown motorcyclist taped a white envelope to the bulletproof vehicle of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman in the capital's Gulshan area. The incident took place around 11:45 pm on 14 January while Tarique was inside his vehicle, which was being escorted by his security force (CSF).
The motorcyclist, who approached the vehicle at high speed, used scotch tape to attach the envelope to the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and then fled the scene. Police officials are currently working to identify the motorcyclist, and a general diary (GD) has been filed at Gulshan Police Station.
While the contents of the envelope remain unknown, neither the police nor the BNP have disclosed any further information. CCTV footage from the area has been retrieved, but the quality is unclear. The envelope is still in the possession of Tarique Rahman's security force, as it was not handed over to the authorities.
