On January 20, 2026, the Policy Summit 2026 of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami commenced at the Dhaka Intercontinental Hotel, focusing on key reforms ahead of the upcoming national elections. Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, the Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, presented the party's policy proposals, which cover a wide range of sectors including health, education, economy, and youth development.
Among the major proposals are:

Allocation of 6–8% of GDP for the health sector.

Introduction of a Smart Social Security Card consolidating ID, tax, health, and social services.

Free utilities (gas, electricity, water) for industries for the first three years.

Interest-free loans for farmers and students, as well as a 10,000 BDT monthly loan for graduates until they find employment.

Establishment of specialized hospitals in each of the 64 districts.

The summit also emphasized the creation of 10 million skilled youth and 1.5 million freelancers within five years, as well as the launch of a “Vision 2040” plan to advance the ICT sector and establish a National Payment Gateway for freelancers and digital exports.
The party also outlined a zero-tolerance policy against corruption, with a long-term goal to reduce tax and VAT rates, aiming for 19% tax and 10% VAT in the future.
Jamaat-e-Islami's leaders, including prominent intellectuals, policymakers, and diplomats, are expected to engage in deep and constructive discussions during the summit, aiming to shape a human-centered and just system for Bangladesh’s future.
