Posters Flood Dhaka; EC Warns of Strict Action if Not Removed

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin has warned political parties that Dhaka is flooded with posters, despite their ban. He urged the removal of all posters and warned that strict action will be taken against those responsible.
On Thursday (13 November), the Election Commission (EC) held a dialogue with political parties at the Election Bhaban in Agargaon, Dhaka, ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election.
The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) said that despite the EC’s ban on posters, the city is still flooded with them, which is unacceptable. He urged parties to remove the posters voluntarily, describing it as the most courteous action. He warned that the commission will not tolerate any violations of the code of conduct and will take strict action once the election schedule is announced.
The discussion agenda at the EC’s electoral dialogue included:

Duties of parties and candidates before the schedule announcement.

Compliance with the code of conduct after the schedule is announced.

Adhering to commitments made by parties and candidates.

Preventing misuse of AI in elections.

Combating misinformation and disinformation.

Maintaining communal harmony.

Avoiding discrimination based on gender, religion, or caste.

Prohibiting the use of religious places for political campaigns.

Ensuring AI-generated videos do not harm opponents or target individuals based on gender or religion.
