Special Arrangements for Women at Khaleda Zia's Funeral Prayer

The Chronify

The interim government has made special arrangements for women to participate in the funeral prayer of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.

To pay final respects to former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, the entire nation is preparing for her funeral prayer. On Wednesday, December 31, following the Zohr prayer, her funeral will take place at the south plaza of the National Parliament. To ensure women's participation, the interim government has made special and separate arrangements.

According to a post on the office of the Chief Adviser’s Facebook page on Tuesday night, separate zones or special blocks will be set up for women supporters around the National Parliament's South Plaza and Manik Mia Avenue. This will allow women to join the final farewell of their beloved leader in a completely secure and organized environment.

The funeral prayer is scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM tomorrow, with some essential guidelines provided for those attending.

Important Guidelines:

  • Security Measures: Attendees are requested not to carry any bags, purses, or bundles for security reasons.

  •

  • Timing and Order: It is advised to arrive at least one hour before the start of the prayer and to stay in the designated area.

  •

Overall Arrangements:

Unprecedented security measures have been put in place around the Parliament complex and nearby areas. Along with law enforcement, volunteer teams will be deployed to manage the crowd. Authorities have ensured that all aspects of traffic and public safety have been addressed to facilitate smooth participation for everyone.

BNP and the administration anticipate a gathering of several hundred thousand people in Dhaka to bid farewell to the three-time former Prime Minister.

Khaleda Zia passed away at the age of 80 at Evercare Hospital at 6:00 AM today. She had been battling long-term health complications, including liver issues, kidney problems, heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, and infection.
