Three Suspects Arrested with Foreign Firearms and Drugs in Joint Operation in Dhaka
Three individuals were apprehended during a joint operation in Dhaka, where foreign and local firearms, as well as drugs, were seized. The identities of the arrested suspects have not been disclosed.
In a coordinated operation conducted on Sunday night (December 28), three suspected saboteurs were arrested in Dhaka with foreign pistols, local weapons, and drugs. The operation took place between 9:00 PM and 2:00 AM in the Ttipara slum area, Telugu Colony, and Dholpur.
According to a press release from the 71st Mechanized Brigade under the 9th Infantry Division, the operation was based on intelligence information and targeted two abandoned buildings in the city corporation's area. The suspects were caught on-site, and during the immediate search, a 30-caliber Underwood M-1 (1943) pistol, along with two rounds of ammunition, was recovered from the location.
Additionally, two smartphones, one button phone, two local firearms, approximately 250 grams of cannabis, and four cannabis packets (kolki) were seized. The arrested suspects and the seized items were handed over to the Jatrabari Police Station for further investigation.
The names of the detained individuals have not been disclosed by the military authorities.
