Seven-Year-Old Ayesha Akter Dies in a Fire After Celebrating Her Academic Success

In a heartbreaking turn of events, young Ayesha Akter, a second-grade student from Bhavaniganj Union, tragically lost her life in a devastating fire just days after excelling in her annual exam. Ayesha, who secured second place in her class, was looking forward to starting third grade with her peers. However, her dreams were shattered when the fire broke out at her home on December 19, 2025. The fire was allegedly set deliberately, with suspicions that someone locked the door and poured petrol, trapping the family inside.

Ayesha’s father, Belal Hossain, recalled the horrific scene where he was able to save his wife and other children but was unable to rescue his daughter, who called out for him as the flames engulfed her. The fire also claimed the life of Ayesha’s older sister, Salma Akter, who succumbed to her burns in a hospital on December 25. Ayesha’s tragic death follows just six days after her sister's passing, leaving their parents in an indescribable grief.

The local community, including Ayesha’s school, where she was known for her dedication to studies, has been deeply affected by the loss. Teachers and friends of the three sisters, who all studied at Five Star School and College, have expressed their sorrow. The school’s principal, Mohammad Noman Siddique, mentioned that Ayesha’s classmates frequently visit her grave, mourning the loss of a bright and promising student.

Authorities are investigating the incident, with police suspecting foul play due to the circumstances of the fire. However, no arrests have been made yet. The family’s grief is compounded by the lack of justice so far, and the community hopes for a thorough investigation to bring those responsible to justice.
