Two Fuel Ships Carrying 44,000 Tonnes of Diesel Set to Arrive at Chattogram Port
Diesel imports from India and China continue as multiple oil vessels dock at Bangladesh’s key seaport
Two ships carrying a combined 44,000 tonnes of diesel from India and China are scheduled to arrive at Chattogram Port on Tuesday, continuing Bangladesh’s ongoing fuel import operations.
According to shipping officials, the Hong Kong-flagged vessel Gran Couva, carrying 34,000 tonnes of diesel imported from India, is expected to reach the port around 3:00 pm.
Later in the day, the Singapore-flagged Hafnia Marlin, transporting 10,000 tonnes of diesel from China, is expected to arrive at approximately 11:00 pm. The information was confirmed by officials of Pride Shipping Line, the local agent handling the vessels.
Authorities said fuel shipments have remained steady in recent days. Over the past week, seven fuel-carrying ships have already arrived at the port, while two vessels have completed unloading and departed.
At present, several oil tankers are either docked at port jetties or waiting at outer anchorage for unloading operations. Despite challenging weather conditions, officials reported that fuel discharge activities have continued without major disruptions.
The continued arrival of fuel shipments is seen as part of ongoing efforts to maintain stable energy supply amid fluctuating global fuel markets.
