Ahead of Dr. Shafiqur Rahman’s visit to Sylhet for a party tour on February 7, 2026, the city has been adorned with some unusual and striking banners featuring curious slogans. The banners, hanging at key locations such as Nayorpool Point, Chowhatta, Government Alia Madrasa Field, and Zindabazar, have piqued the interest of locals due to their distinctive design.
The banners carry slogans such as "Our Dadu is Coming," "Welcome, Our Dadu is the Next PM, Insha-Allah," and "Winter is Coming," with a theme reminiscent of the popular Hollywood series Game of Thrones. Notably, these banners feature Dr. Shafiqur Rahman holding a sword, accompanied by symbols of balance scales and a wolf, which align with the Game of Thrones motif.
This creative presentation has sparked curiosity among the public, with many stopping to look at the bold and unusual artwork.
Regarding the banners, Sylhet Metropolitan Jamaat Ameer Muhammad Fakhrul Islam stated that they are aware of the banners, and it appears that they were initiated by the Gen-Z youth in the area. These young individuals took the initiative to create and display these unique visuals as part of the preparations for Dr. Shafiqur Rahman’s visit.
