A youth in Kasba, Brahmanbaria was arrested after making derogatory comments about the death of Osman Hadi on social media.
A 35-year-old man named Yasin Bhuiyan was arrested in Kasba, Brahmanbaria, after making offensive remarks about the late Osman Hadi, the spokesperson for the Inquilab Mancha, on social media. The incident occurred on Friday, December 19, 2025, when Yasin, a resident of Majkhara village in the Kuti Union, posted a message on Facebook saying "Alhamdulillah" and referred to Hadi as a "terrorist" following his death.
The controversial post led to local outrage, and an agitated mob detained Yasin, subsequently handing him over to the police. Police and local sources confirmed the arrest after the incident sparked anger in the community.
Kasba Police Station's Officer-in-Charge (OC), Nazneen Sultana, stated that the public had reported Yasin’s provocative post, which led to his detention. "Following the complaint, we arrived at the scene and brought him to the station," she said. Legal action is underway against Yasin, who, according to preliminary reports, is affiliated with the Awami League.
This arrest has drawn attention to the growing tensions surrounding the death of Osman Hadi, a prominent political figure in the region.
